Events and School Trips
Model UN at the International School of Helsingborg
ISÄ had 11 students (M4 and M5) who enjoyed three full and exciting days during the International School of Helsingborg Model United Nations. The event took place from Tuesday the 13th of February to Thursday the 15th 2018, with a prep-session on Tuesday afternoon for first-time participants to MUN. The event gathered approximately 75 delegates from a number of different schools and all debates were conducted in English. ISÄ students, despite being a year younger than all other students, beautifully rose to the occasion and in several cases impressed the audience with original spot-on proposals and
On the last day, the International School of Helsingborg also invited us to share traditional dishes they cooked as celebration of internationalism.
In short, the MUN was a success and ISÄ is proud of our participating students. With assistance from their I&S teacher, they had prepared for the MUN on the side of regular school work and managed both. Well done, ISÄ MUN-ers!

Below are some of the feedbacks we received from both parents and students about the trip.
"I just want to say that this is a fantastic opportunity that I really wished that I had when I went to school (whilst dinosaurs still roamed the great lands). Thank you for organizing and taking part of this
- outstanding!" - Parent
"These three days have been a fantastic experience. We have all gained a clearer understanding of how United Nations procedures work. A challenge has been to be objective and truly represent your country without bias. The debates and resolution writing has been so educational, and I think that when you put political debates and procedures into practice you gain so much knowledge and understanding of how they could work in the real UN. I would also like to thank Stefana for the effort of organising and bringing us to the MUN, and the school for offering the trip." - MYP 5 student
"I found the whole experience very fun and the only time during the whole experience that I found not so great, was during the evenings when I had to find something to wear for the next day. I enjoyed debating and writing a resolution and I thought that it was a great MUN to start with since we got so much help and support from the chairs. I also really liked the chairs because they were so kind and supportive. The only sad thing was that it was only a three-day event, and not longer. I do think that the MUN should become a yearly event because I believe that the MYP4 and 5 students in the future would really enjoy the MUN, just like I did." - MYP 5 student
